My name is Travis Rooke-Ley, and I'm an 8th grade AGS-1 teacher at Whitford Middle School. This is my 5th year teaching overall and second at Whitford. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon where I attended South Eugene High School. I attended The Claremont Colleges in Southern California for all four years of college, where I played baseball and double-majored in Government and Sociology. Post-graduation, I was signed to continue my baseball career in Australia, but that was unfortunately cut short due to injury. Nonetheless, my love for kids, education, family and the state of Oregon brought me back here and I'm loving every minute of it. When I'm not teaching, you'll most likely find me coaching baseball, swimming in a river, cooking or at the gym. If you visit my classroom, you'll notice other passions of mine like the Ducks, Blazers, Politics and Journalism. I believe deeply in my role of not just teaching math, but teaching students to think through life. After all, an informed student has the tools to change the world. Looking forward to a great year.
